GENETIC JOYCE STUDIES
NOTES & ARTICLES - QUERIES - TIMELINE - LOST & FOUND - ABOUT GENETIC JOYCE STUDIES
This is an updated version of the bibliography of Genetic Studies on Joyce, originally compiled by Sam Slote. The list is divided into six categories (General Studies, Catalogues, Early/Other Works, Ulysses, Editions of Ulysses, Finnegans Wake), and so works by individual critics are split into these various categories. With special thanks to: Wim Van Mierlo for preparing an early version of this bibliography; Ingeborg Landuyt and Geert Lernout for correcting various errors and also the people who provided information: Jorn Barger; Vincent Deane; Daniel Ferrer; Michael Groden; David Hayman; John Kidd, Laurent Milesi, Liesbeth Van Gool, and Katrien Verreyken.
The most recent overhaul was made by Ronan Crowley. He
also input the bibliography into EndNote X1. The library––a compressed .ENLX
file––can be downloaded here.
To expand the compressed file simply open it in EndNote (version X or later).
This will extract the .ENL file and the .DATA folder to the same folder where
the .ENLX file is located. Within the library any of the six categories of this
web-format bibliography can be displayed by selecting the relevant group (or in
EndNote X by searching under the relevant category title––though a search for
"ULYSSES" will also bring up all works on the various editions of the
book). Additional groups and KEYWORDS established for the library (bear in mind
that EndNote X can search only the latter) include Biography; New MSS (which
includes sub-groupings organized under the keywords QUINN DRAFT; EUMEO; JOYCE
PAPERS 2002; JOYCE PAPERS 2006); Rosenbach MS and GABLER’S ULYSSES. Within
EndNote an individual work can be found under several categories or groups as
appropriate.
This bibliography is not complete and can always be
supplemented. All extra bibliographic references to genetic Joyce research––or
suggestions as to other keywords or groups for the EndNote component––are
welcome; please e-mail us.
